JEE Advanced 2020 Exam Date has been released. The Joint Entrance Examination (Advanced) 2020 will be conducted by the IITs under the guidance of the Joint Admission Board (JAB) 2020.

Total 245000 candidates will be selected based on the JEE Main Results; will be declared on 30th April 2020. These selected candidates will write the JEE Advanced 2020 Examination.

JEE Advanced 2020 | The examination will consist of two papers:

Exam Date: Sunday, May 17, 2020
Paper 1 09:00 AM – 12:00 Noon
Paper 2 02:30 PM – 05:30 PM

* Both the papers are compulsory.
* Mode of Exam: Online (computer-based) mode.
* Medium: The paper will be available in the English or Hindi language.
* Results of JEE (Advanced) 2020 will be declared on 08th June 2020 (Monday).

Eligibility for Foreign Candidates:
Candidates who are NOT citizens of India (by birth or naturalized) and have studied (are studying) abroad at 10+2 level or equivalent at the time of registering for JEE (Advanced) 2020, are treated as foreign nationals. Seats allotted to foreign nationals are supernumerary with a cap of 10% of the total number of seats in every course.
These candidates are not required to write the JEE (Main) 2020 and they may directly register for JEE (Advanced) 2020.
Identity Proof required: Identity proof of the candidate is required in the form of citizenship certificate/Passport.

Tie-breaking Policy
If two or more candidates are getting the same aggregate marks than in this case the tie-breaking policy will be applicable. Candidates having higher marks will be given a higher rank. If this criteria fails then the subject-wise evaluation will be done in the following way:

  • Higher Rank will be given to the candidate who obtains higher marks in Mathematics. If this criteria fails to break the tie then the higher rank will be given to the candidate who obtains the higher marks in Physics.
  • If still there will be a tie the candidates will be given the same rank.

Improvement of Scores:
If any Candidate who had appeared in Class XII (or equivalent) examination for the first time in 2019 and wants to reappear in 2020 to improve his/her scores than the candidate can reappear in all the subjects. The percentage marks in this situation will be calculated by considering the marks obtained in 2019 or 2020, whichever is higher, in the respective subjects, in her/his two attempts in 2019 and 2020.

JoSAA 2019 Counselling
The candidates are eligible to write JEE Advanced 2020:

  • If the candidates were offered a seat in an IIT during JoSAA 2019, but they had not paid seat acceptance fee also not reported to any IIT reporting centre.
  • If the candidates were offered a seat in an IIT during JoSAA 2019 but had paid seat acceptance fee also reported to IIT reporting centre but later withdrew before the last round of seat allotment.
  • The candidates who are studying in NIT are also eligible for JEE Advanced 2020.
