Resonance Classroom Student wins Silver Medal in International Chemistry Olympiad (IChO) 2012
Resonance's classroom student, Nimit Kumar Singh, from Jaipur Study Centre, has
won silver medal in the 44th International Chemistry Olympiad (IChO) 2012, held
from 21st to 30th July at the University of Maryland, Washington, D.C. He was one
of the Top-4 students selected to represent India in the Final Stage with 73 nationally
selected teams who had participated in this event.
The other three bright students forming Indian contingent were Diptarka from Kolkata,
Manav Avlani from Mumbai and Shubham Chandak from Bhopal. All these three students
have brought Gold Medals to India. The 4-member student team along with 2 mentors
and 1 scientific observer constituted the delegation to represent India in IChO
From Rajasthan, Nimit is the ONLY student who was selected for IChO 2012. He was
enrolled in Resonance's Yearlong Classroom Contact Program at Jaipur Study Centre,
and has qualified IIT-JEE 2012 with AIR-51 (Gen.). This is the third time a student
from Resonance Jaipur Study Centre has got a medal in International Chemistry Olympiads.
In 2009, Shruti Khatri has won silver medal followed by a bronze medal in 2010,
won by Amit Pangal. This is not just the achievement of Resonance's Jaipur Study
Centre, but also a big achievement for Jaipur city and for the whole Rajasthan.
